2005 G500?s and HELP

Dear All:

I need some info, and substantiated info. I own a 2003 G500 which I am about to trade in for a new 2005 G500. Partly, bc this will be the last of the real Gs for the US, and also partly bc of the seatbelt upgrade and side airbags.

Here is my concern.....I don't have a dealership that EVER stocks this truck. So I am ?ing whether or not the middle seat on the rear bench has a 3 point belt or the same old lap only belt. I have spoken with a salesman in TX who swears to me that the center seatbelt on the rear bench for his in stock 2005 was lap only. Does anyone have any first hand info???? I have called MBNA and the tech there said it is a 3 point to the best of his knowledge. I just dont want to drop that kind of $ and find out that there was no improvement.

Thanks,
Alex

The 2005 models have side curtain air bags and a three point harness in the rear center position. The reason some are unclear on the rear center seat restraint is that the belt extends down from the headliner and fastens using two latches and two buckles (a little awkward to do, particularly the first time in the dark).

Thanks so much for the reply and info. If possible, can you get me a digital photo of it - it sounds cumbersome....

Thanks,
Alex

My 9 year old can do it in seconds, but the few adults that have tried have all required assisitance. It would be a complete non-issue if we left the belt down and latched in the primary buckle because it would then work just like an ordinary three point belt. However, I prefer to retract it when not in use so rearward vision is not obstructed. I'll see what I can do about getting some pics.
