Part of the mystique of the G is the limited availability. If there were six of them sitting on every Mercedes lot they would be selling at a discount not with an ADM.
Same thing with other luxury goods whether it’s Daytona’s or Birkins. A lot of the demand comes from the inability to get it easily. People want what others can’t get.
Just like the other companies Mercedes knows what they are doing.

Actually there are now about 30 of these $190K red magnos for sale on autotrader and apparently they are not selling!!

I noticed that the red magnos seemed to be building on autotrader as I search red G63's occasionally to check on the market and see different configurations.
I think it's a combination of red not being as popular, the white interior, and dealers adding on $100k ADMs haha.

My dealer has their red available too for 60k over. The white sold on the announcement day. Problem with the red I’m told is the interior is basically bright white, which is just about the dumbest thing I can imagine. If they did black seats they’d all be gone too.

Even more dumb is not applying the full black magno package with black matte wheel arches and bumpers and roof and spare wheel ring to break down the intensity of the red. And then to delay the waiting list by 400 cars for this overpriced crap is unfathomable!!

It's funny I actually like the red magno because it doesn't have the black wheel arches and bumpers. Can't get over that white interior though.

What Max-AZ is saying - is that the major Consumer Portals such as Auto-Trader, Car-Guru's, True-Car pull their Dealer inventory upload from MBUSA (they pay MBUSA for that privilege) and that Data pull shows any fresh/added/new MB that MBUSA has billed to the dealer - as it has been released to Shipper to go to the Dealer it gets invoiced to that Dealer - and "pop" goes up on those Portals
Unfortunately on that Data pull - pull's ALL freshly/billed units - including those that show on the MBN-Side in the MB-Dealer System as pre-sold to customer's.
The "Limited Edition's" were a upside "gift" to well performing and well behaved MB Dealer's - and as a Dealer you don't look at a Gift-Horse-In-The-Mouth.
Oh - digital photo's do not portray the "red" interior well - shows too-bright-of-red in d-photos - actually it's quite a "nice" elegant red.
The Limited Edition has been one reason why 2021 Production will continue thru October Build - when changeover in the past has been 2nd week September - the other reason for this Fall's later changeover has to do with "chip's" - 2021 changeover to MBUX was "canceled" due to chip shortage at that time - frankly in hindsight since chip shortage got worse and MB Product Management is "trying" to make that changeover for 2022.
The "chip shortage" is directly caused by ongoing and soon-to-be resurgent COVID in Taiwan among the immigrant factory labor force there that feeds "the chip machines" at TSMC.... which is a kindof rarely mentioned thing with intl political sensitivity in Taiwan running so high under ongoing Chinese Intl political pressure.
