This place is a joke.

Reminds me of the old Auto Toy Store in Ft. Lauderdale....you forgot to add the shady financing for buyers who couldn't quite "qualify" on the books, if you know what I mean!

New reality, the intersting thing that only G remained above MSRP 3 years after initial production. The above sticker phenomenon happens only from the first few month to one year after production. Good for the owners, bad for people who are trying to buy.

That place is still open I believe. I see it when I go to a new company I opened in Ft Lauderdale. They had a Brabus G63 Squared outside.

That dealer owns a Exotic car rental business in Miami FL. Not saying these G63s have been used for that.

Maybe these "used" Gs with 20 miles on their clocks are being sold off via non-MB franchise dealers to give the appearance of gray marketeers, and to allow MB dealerships to avoid the scrutiny and bad PR of price gouging. Also avoids angry MB dealership customers who buy a truck for $300K today only to find prices dropping back to $225K late next year (maybe).

I’ve heard that dealer in Charlotte is the largest McLaren dealer in the country.

Concerning their used cars they have a consignment program which is how they get all of those models. The dealer isn’t making payments on them or owns the vehicles—they merely keep the vehicles on their lot, advertise, and take a cut when it sells. Tidy way to do business.

I have a friend who sold an RS6 through them. He financed it and essentially drove it from the Audi dealer to there where it was stored until it sold.

I sold my last car (a Lexus) through a consignment dealer. Listed it for 2x what trade-in or Carvana offered. Dealer took 10%, and saved me much time and trouble. Sold in a week, got asking price, dealer did paperwork. Well worth the commission paid - would sell again this way.

I’ve sold cars through brokers before, but still kept possession of my cars. I wouldn’t want to leave it at a dealership on consignment because of insurance liability. If someone wrecked it or damaged it, I’d be liable.

People who drive their G63 will pay dearly as compared to a low miles G63. Low miles G63 will get the most attention and top dollar.

The white / green &black went up on price 10k. Either he had many offers or trying to match the market

I did fairly well when I sold my '19 Edition 1 6 months ago, had 54k miles on it. Plan on doing the same with my '20, if not more miles. They are by no means exotics or garage queens.

Why purchase a G if you are afraid to drive it?? I use mine as a daily driver and enjoy every minute of it. I could care less how many miles I put on it or what the resale value may be a year or two from now. If you are buying a G as an "investment" then you are wasting your money... Put that $200k into real estate, stocks, or cryptocurrency instead!

I agree, I purchased mine as a daily driver and enjoy driving it. I don’t care about fuel mileage or selling it for a profit.
A vehicle is a depreciating asset, not an investment.

compared to high end SUVs , it is the only one which holds it value much better than any othe SUV.
Even within MB brand, it the most appreciated model.

I agree with that, but I didn’t purchase it as an investment, I purchased it to drive.

Guys, is the "new normal" for G63s going to be $290k CAD or $230k USD from now on for new 2021s?

Or should we expect the bubble to pop mid next year?

It will kill me inside if I pay $290k CAD for a new 2021 now, only to see the bubble pop and prices come back down to reality around $230k which is a fully loaded (including matte paint) MSRP G63.

Doesn't matter how rich you are, that would hurt, at least for me. Not really financially, but if you're an entrepreneur, you'll probably know what I mean.

If I were you, I would purchase a Jeep Rubicon V8 and wait to see what happens.

in the USA, 30 to 50k above msrp was the norm, prices sky rocketed when MB announced no V8 for 22. If you love the car abd want to keep for a long time , you shouldn't worry.

I've actually started driving mine more now because I figure the dealer will accept higher miles for trade-in because of the decrease in supply. My goal is to trade in for a new one with net zero cost, not to make $50k profit. Plus the red/red colorway isn't the best for maximizing profit but it puts a huge smile on my face every time I go into the garage.

If the G market tanks, I'm happy keeping this specific one for years as well.

This vehicle is too fun to drive to let it sit, and I don't want to give it up unless I'm getting one back.

All local 21 in the 250 range are sold, it seems that 270k range is the norm now. More in 299k asking price on autotrader but wonder if anyone would buy at that price?

Almost everyone I speak with that's in the car business is telling me V8 G63s are done and they don't think the hybrid will consist of a V8.

I do remember an announcement posted 1-2 years ago that said G Wagons will get a Hybrid V6 in 2022. Could this really be the end?

many think that it is a temp delay, market prices tell the opposite!

Exactly... and the people buying G63s are not stupid, no matter how much money they have, to pay $100k over list if it's temporary.

The only people saying it's temporary are the ones waiting on the sidelines..

The V8 G wagens will be back, for a while. Mercedes has phased out the V6, no hybrid anyway. Eventually it will be only the EQG.

GT 63 S E hybrid argues otherwise. Seems like AMG is planning to hybridize the V8 for the performance lines starting with MY23 in NA. I bet the “regular” Mercedes models get downgraded to 4 and 6 cylinders.
