I want a Geländewagen in the form of a Sedan
Sitting somewhere in between the E and S class.
A vehicle that will, with reasonable replacement of parts as they wear out, go forever at the same level of comfort and performance as when new.
No gimmicks or stupid ****, just a beast of a sedan. That's what I want.

Will be interesting to see if the G will keep its current setup because as of right now it and the new SL are the only cars in MB's lineup with solely the V8 and no mild hybrid.
My guess is the G, SL and the upcoming GT will be the only cars with a pure ICE setup. This makes sense to me because this way the whole model range will lower its emissions average (with higher volume AMG sellers like the C63S and E63 V8's gone) and customers will have to pay for their top of line cars to get just the V8. I also think this because it doesn't make sense to me to implement a mild hybrid for the G for a year or 2 as the electric G comes out in 2024/2025. But hey who knows, they may make it a hybrid and offer it as an option alongside the electric G.

They'll sell the ICE and electric G side by side for awhile. I read somewhere that the assumption is we'll see an ICE G at least until 2030. My bet is whenever this supposed refresh occurs (2024?) we'll get MBUX and this hybrid V8.
