Agree love the G! Picking up my 2023 today. Put in request in 2021 and got allocation in October at MSRP.

This is probably my favorite spec so far.

Congrats man, we’ll have to link up soon since you’re in the area. Monoblocks look amazing!

I took delivery of mine yesterday. Long time coming but so grateful to finally have it now. Arabian grey in person looks stunning and happy we went with it (wife’s preference)

going in next week for paint correction, ppf, ceramic coating, and tint. Will post additional pics after it’s protected and coated.

what’s the best method to black out the side reflectors? Can those be replaced with black ones or easiest to have it wrapped with black film?

Thanks everyone and congrats OG63! Looks great--arabian gray was my second choice, so I'd love to see yours in person for future reference! I'll send you a PM.

Are most people here PPFing theirs? I definitely want to do ceramic coating but still on the fence for PPF given its pricey to do the whole car and it needs to be redone every couple or so years (I think right?). Also still not completely convinced of its protection given I feel big enough impacts (maybe a highway rock) will dig through anyway. For reference, mine will be garage parked and mostly city driving with the odd road-trip every now and then. Also for reference but I think our roads here in Canada tend to not be as bad as a lot of the states which can be rough. Would love to hear from some guys who have it applied!

I PPF'd my 2021 and used to drive it on the highway a lot. I had two rock chips where it went through the PPF. One hit the very square vertical edge of the hood and tore the PPF and chipped the paint underneath. Another hit the small paint area in the lower passenger corner below the corner of the windshield and put a divot into the paint. PDR could have fixed it but it would have required removal of the PPF. Due to this experience I'm skipping PPF on all my cars and just doing ceramic coating to help with cleaning.

I have a different daily driver now, so now I only drive the G locally and not on the freeways and will press my luck.

Absolutely beautiful build. How do you get the same color flares with the vehicle with the AMG line with night package?

I think you are right not to waste the money on PPF if you aren't on the freeway a lot. And even if you were on the freeway a ton I'd hesitate to install it on a daily driver. I have to admit I wasn't a fan of monoblocks, but they are growing on me (particularly now that I've seen a couple of G63s on them in person). Didn't love them on the GT63S, but they work on the G63.

Thank you both for the reply and this is the direction I was leaning towards! Ive also heard if you miss the period for which the PPF is supposed to be replaced/removed, it can actually cause damage that will need paint correction anyway which is just another headache. I'll just stick with ceramic coating the entire car and possibly paint correction once a blue moon.

It should be dependent on where in Canada you reside. I'm in Alberta so ceramic, PPF and windshield protection is a must.

Fair enough, Im in Vancouver so I think it should be ok without PPF. Might do the windshield protection given the flat/vertical nature of the one in the G and its tendency to chip easier.

PPF and windshield protection is a must!! even if you don’t drive on a highway… its saved me even on local roads… i can see some surface marks on PPF and no scratch in paint and my ‘22 only has 4k miles. You dont need to do entire car… just front. the film also protects from winter stuff like salt etc… its a must. these cars are expensive to touch up… and a rock did not pierce my paint in a highway hit. do it, its peace of mind.

cermic coating is ok but doesn’t last long and its not real protection

As others have commented, windshield protection is highly recommended. Plus, its a lot cheaper than replacing the windshield.

Perfect spec and love the monoblocks. I didn't care for them in photos at first but quickly changed my mind when I finally saw them in person.
