This morning in Colorado -- about 7" dropped last night.

I've had Yokohama Geolander G015s mounted since buying the G about 4 years ago. After 20K miles, the tread depth is at 8/32" (12/32" new). Tread wear warranty is 60K miles, which might be possible, but I'll probably go with a new set in another 4 years or so when the tread is no less than 4/32". Handling in the snow is exceptional (not as good as the Blizzaks mounted on my Jeep, but much better than all-season M+S rated tires). I drive only 5K/year on the G and don't need to venture out in blizzards, so the Geolanders work well for me year round.

@streborx Have you had any experience with ice or ice+snow with your Geolanders? I'm in the Boston area and sometimes we'll get freezing rain/ice during heavy commuting hours and the roads are not able to be treated. Debating a full on winter tire or something like the Geolanders for a winter setup. Thank you!

If you'll be flipping tire/wheel sets seasonally, I'd go with winter tires, and get a studded set if legal in your state and if icy roads are a concern. Even the Blizzaks on my Jeep lose traction on icy hard-pack snow surfaces. I drive my G only 5K/year and can avoid bad weather days, so the Geolanders work really well for me year-round. Driving in snow as in the photo is no problem, but if it became as deep as the G's ground clearance, I'd probably be in trouble.

Thanks! I think I'll just get a dedicated winter tire setup. Ice isn't a constant issue, but it is something we deal with. I also have another crossover that I can use that has great AWD with Crossclimate 2's installed, so I won't be putting a ton of miles on my G either. But, I figure what's the point of having this very capable tank if I can't enjoy it in the snow and harsh weather every now and then. I love the aggressive look of the AT tires but I think an actual winter tire is what I need.

Big fan of the Nitto Terra Grappler G2. Great all around tire and has the proper look for the G IMO.

How do they handle for you in winter conditions, most specifically stopping? They sure do look great, just wondering about freezing rain/ice. Are those stock wheels or after market?

Just realized those are forged Vossens, very nice! At least $2K a pop?
