Advice - first time buyer 2024 g550 $3.5k over MSRP

Simple as that. Seeking advice from the forum. I found a nicely equipped (AMG, exclusive interior ) G550 a few states away for 3.5k over and 2k (cost) to ship.

1. thoughts? Will I regret trying to wait for 25?
2. Leasing is an option (clearly a high money factor) - is this smart? Vehicle will be outside in Florida (no garage sadly)

thank you in advance.

G550 you may do better to get the 24 if you want the V8 and don't care about the infotainment system. It'll be interesting to see what the response is to the 25 G550 with the V6.

$3,500 over is small compared to the price of the vehicle. If you can't get it closer for MSRP then it's the price to get the vehicle soon.

Personally I would not lease a G unless you can write off payments or depreciation through a business or LLC.

Advice. I purchased a G550 September 2021. Loved it. Test drove a G63 in June 2023. Omg, had to have it. Color & interior I wanted. Traded G550 to it in July.
Advice....G63 or bust unless your heart is set on 550.
Care less about touch screen. Will never buy an electric G. Slap in the face of what it is; like building an electric Hummer. Disgrace imo.

That is good price and if you rather have a V8 over an inline 6 you should buy it. You did not mention a G63 or electric so I am not sure why those were brought up.

A few thoughts:

Have you driven the 550? I drove both and found the 550 underpowered even compared to my previous Range Rover with an I6. The G63 on the other hand.... But I recognize it's a steep upcharge.

Don't lease unless you have tax benefits in doing so. Even then, buying and depreciating maybe better.

$3.5k ADM is not bad, but you can likely find for msrp if you ask around. BUT if the spec is what you want, its probably worth to just do it.

$2k to ship seems a bit steep. If you're pinching pennies you can probably find for less. I shipped my G in an enclosed trailer halfway across the country for $1600. My selling dealer arranged.

Good luck...regardless what you do you'll love the truck!
