Drove G550 through flooded road
Hello
we had some severe storm here. Created mayhem on the roads. Flood everywhere and road closure.
I managed my way home through several low points with water to bumper level all went well.
Last roundabout to home was seriously flooded.
I decided to drive through.
I have a G550 2008.
Put Low Range, gear on 2 and rolled slowly.
I reached half way water got seriously high reaching top of hood and I maintained momentum to avoid stalling.
Water covered the hood and I kept going.
Then the road started to pick up but water went inside.
I had the battery red signal on the dashboard. Then the Brake defect came on.
I lost the power steering but continued through until back on clear asphalt.
I reached home without stalling.
However here are the messages I am having from the Instrument cluster :
Battery: I guess that is the aux. As the main is ok
Brake wear signal
ABS and ESP malfunction
Hand brake light on
Yellow triangle warning on
No power steering
But engine starts and I drove it. Gears are changing but I couldn’t go far as I have no power steering.
I will wait for storm to clear and go to workshop.
However can I have your feedback on what am I up against?
Anyone went so deep in water?
