2021 G63 cylinder deactivation

hello, recently i installed a brabus exhaust on my 2021 g63, idk if it’s me but the cylinder deactivation engages waaaay more often and even when slowing down to a stop light with my feet on the brakes, it kicks in while slowing down when i reach around 20 to 15 KMH. And also in round abouts, speed bumps and i’m not sure if the exhaust has anything to do with it or is it because of the exhaust that i notice it more often, (its really annoying with the exhaust) any one had any experience with what i’m talking about and is it normal for it to kick in allllll the time ?

Also i’ve noticed 2019/2020 g63’s cylinder deactivation system deactivates when you turn off auto start stop, on 2021 and above it stays on as long as you’re in comfort mode regardless of the auto start stop.

My cylinder deactivation stays on when my auto start stop is off.

Reviving this old thread... so on a 2023 G550, the only way to turn cylinder deactivation OFF is to NOT run in Comfort mode ?

Also - any way to run the loud exhaust without the sport engine/transmission setting ? I like the loud exhaust but feel that it shifts too quickly and frequently in the sport setting for around town.

Hey, so I just bought and installed the Renntech EVM because I thought the valves were closing and just realized it’s actually cylinder deactivation. I also have a 23 g550. Even in Individual mode with engine set to comfort, cylinders deactivate. I haven’t found a way around it yet but it’s super frustrating.

Contrary

On the contrary, I have been cruising in my 23 at speeds of 70+ mph in comfort and never saw the deactivation light come on.

Yeah there isn’t a light like there is on the G63. It also seems to vary by model year on what indicators are available.

That makes sense because my 23 G550 also does not have the light when the cylinders are deactivated.

Do all (2019-2024) G550's and G63's have cylinder deactivation? I don't have the dash indicator and have never "felt" it kick on or off. I always turn auto stop/start off when starting the engine so maybe that is why
