Fitment AMG Wheels + Brakes

Hey all - Long time lurker, and finally decided to make an account and post - Couple of questions -

I have a 23' G550 and am looking to upgrade the wheels to the 22" Cross Spoke AMG wheel and wondering if I'll have any issues with fitment? Also wondering if anyone has ever done an AMG brake kit swap into a G550 and could share their experience as I debate about doing that as well. If you recommend any places to find these wheels and brakes used I would highly appreciate it!

Thank you in advance!

In theory they should fit, but depending on which wheel you are currently running it might stick out more than the current set up.

Assuming you are running the 19" wheel currently, a 22" G63 wheel would stick out 35mm more.

If you are running the 20" option currently, a 22" G63 wheel would stick out 15mm more.

Some specs for reference:

G550 19" wheel is 8.5Jx19, ET52
G550 20" wheel is 8.5Jx20, ET32

G63 22" wheel is 10Jx22, ET36

Those are the US domestic market sizes. Not sure if they are any different for other markets.

Can't speak to the brake upgrade. If rotors are different size then the calipers might not be a simple bolt-on affair.

Thank you in advance!

Buddy of mine did that last week (fronts only). I am 90% sure they bolted right on. They 'look' close to the wheels as they spin but they have enough clearance. He did not swap the rears.

Wow this is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much for this information. I currently have 20's on it so 15mm is not a huge difference and I'm happy to run that.

Next question is do you have any idea where to find a used set besides ebay? All I'm finding is reps and non-oem versions which I don't want to take a chance on. I'm either going to buy new from Mercedes or find a good set of used ones, just not sure where to look.

Thank you so much for the reply and the photo - This is great news if its a direct swap! Did he mention if it was a pain or not? I would assume if you bought the kit it should just bolt right up to the tower?

Any idea where he bought his setup? Looking also to find a used set of these if possible

I did not get a picture of the fronts as they were the proper AMG caliper on his car. I took the rears as they are NOT AMG calipers and I wanted to give him a hard time that my rears looked better than his rears.

Oh, talked to him today - bolted right onto the car with no adapters plates or anything.

The REAL rear brakes for the AMG cars :-)

Haha amazing, good on you for giving him a hard time.

I'm considering grabbing this kit - seems straight forward enough!

For $12k I would want the Brembo floating rotors - at least. If not one of the variants of Ceramic out there.

True story but I'd like to stay as OEM as I can

Only places I can usually think of to find used G63 wheels is eBay or on the marketplace here. Not factory 22's, but I have these for sale. Nice set of HREs with tires on them.
