2021 G63 Night Package Magno Spare Tire Cover (Canada)
Hello all, new member here.
The 2021 G63 in Dark Olive Green Magno with the Night Package I ordered in September 2020 has just been dropped off at the Canadian port (Halifax) and should be delivered to my local dealer within the next week.
Super excited!
In parallel, the Canadian configurator has just gone live, and to my disappointment/concern it appears the Night Package Magno in Canada is no longer colour matched to the vehicle, but instead comes by default with a spare tire cover painted matte black (not just the spare tire ring, but the cover as-well).
This configuration appears new for 2021, as well exclusive for Canada and the G63 (Canadian G550 still receives body colour matched rear tire cover even with Night Package Magno).
Have any other Canadian members received a 2021 G63 with Night Package Magno, and if so could you please confirm if the spare tire cover is indeed matte black.
Cheers!

My thoughts exactly.
Hoping it’s a glitch with the Canadian configurator (wishful thinking perhaps).
Here is a screen shot of a base model G400d with Dark Olive Green Magno paint...as you noted, cheap vinyl cover that looks identical to the Canadian G63 with Night Package.
Would love for someone in Canada who has taken possession of a 21’ G63 Magno Night package to share a pic of their spare wheel cover

Agreed!
The paint-to-match cover looks much better IMO.
Hoping I can find someone local who can reproduce the Dark Olive Magno paint if the truck arrives with a flat black cover.
First world problems for sure, but frustrating when spec’ing a vehicle with a precise build only to be surprised at the last minute with such an odd factory change.

Mystery solved!
My dealer called this afternoon indicating the G had arrived, and I was welcome to join the unwrapping party (super cool of them).
First order of business was to uncover the spare tire and determine if the configurator was a misrepresentation of the Canadian spec, or if I would be stuck with a matte black spare cover requiring a difficult to match Dark Olive Magno repaint.
Upon removal of the protective transport cover I was happily surprised to find a perfectly colour-coordinated spare tire cover which contrasted nicely with a Magno black ring - just like the ROW configurators show!
Super happy with the outcome, and looking forward to taking the truck home after the dealer prep.

My 2019 G550's spare included a matching 20" alloy wheel, but had a Continental 265/50R20 tire mounted on it, along with a sticker on the wheel that stated "Max 45 MPH". The 4 mounted tires were Pirelli 275/50R20's. I think MB did this to use up its inventory of pre-2019 tire covers that were too small to fit the Pirelli's. I contacted MBUSA about this and never received a reply. If you have a chance, would you check the P/N's on the spare cover components? My P/N's are A463 890 1000 (ring) and A463 898 1700 (face). There's probably a 4-digit suffix denoting the color, such as "9197 for black.

Interesting.
I'm going off what the dealer has told me, but once the G is at home (Truck is still being PDI'd at the dealer) I'm happy to pull of the the spare tire cover and have a look myself.

Many thanks in advance. I want MB to replace my sub-size spare and cover, as the vehicle was represented as being provided with a "full size spare", which I take to mean one that matches the 4 mounted wheels/tires.
