Took the wife's 19' S560 Cab in for coolant and drove away with a 21/22 G63 deposit for myself. Subsequently arrived home to find this forum, so here I am. Dealer tells me that I am looking at 18 months minimum for an allocation. I'm old school carbs and distributor caps from the late 70's and early 80's. Didn't expect to catch a bug again, however after reading and admiring other's vehicles here, I could find myself doing a few mods. For the moment I'm curious as to what mods are usually done to this vehicle. It seems exhaust (Akropovic) is a favorite and I do like the tunes. I suspect an EMS retune is also common. If I may ask, what else are you guys doing to these trucks?

There are lots of things you can do to them. New tires seem to be pretty common, sometimes in conjunction with new wheels. Wheel spacers if you are keeping the factory wheels. Lift kits, body kits like Brabus wide body, black out the emblems, exhaust (I have Fi-Exhaust and think it is a good bang for the buck, and I'm going to remove the secondary cat soon to hopefully get more sound), matching rear spare tire and wheel on a spare flip mount (if you get aftermarket), tunes (Renntech has a good tune, and many dealers won't give you crap for having tuned with Renntech, but your results may vary and other tunes may be more aggressive), etc., etc...
Keep looking at various pics on here and you will get lots of ideas, and the folks on here will certainly help with information. Have you picked the color and options yet, or just placed a spot on the dealer's order list?
