Help with Steeering wheel swap
Hi - I am attempting to swap my g550 steering wheel to the G63 steering wheel with a couple addon (leather airbag center) and stitching to match the rest of the interior.
Its an OEM steering wheel with all the buttons and hookups already in the wheel - so all I did was unplug the two plugs, swap the wheel and plug back in the 2 plugs from the new wheel.
All the buttons on the steering wheel work fine, but when I press the horn, it will not turn off!!! Only way is the turn the car off, open an door and then it will go off. The horn seems like a pretty
simple thing as to how it works, but not sure in this case what its making contact with the trigger the relay.
When I swap back to the old wheel (and old center airbag) everything works find again. Old center airbag is too short to fit onto the AMG new steering wheel.
The only thing I was thinking about was whether I should swap out some of the iinteral electronics between the two wheels? But nott surre since all button work fine.
Anyone have thoughts on what to try next?? Thanks in advance!!!

Figured it out. Just need to play around with the height of the contact ring underneath the center airbag cap… once I let it out a little bit , the horn now has enough play that it releases properly now!!! Here’s a pic….
