I’ve discovered that the dash clock face scratches very easily. And because it’s in close proximity to the cup holders, it is easy to hit it with keys or other objects that you put in the cup holder. Have to “thank” my wife for managing to scratch the face in a number of spots within 2 years. Surprisingly, the gloss black plastic trim is fine.
Has anyone polished out scratches on the clear plastic clock face?
Not perfect, but better, after a few minutes with polyWatch plastic watch face polish.
Make sure you buy the one for plastic, not glass! On a sidenote, it's a shame that the cover is plastic. The IWC version should be sapphire, but I doubt it's any different than the standard watch.
I was worried about making it worse, so be careful not to scratch the face and make it worse.
Used a microfibre towel, which is much better than the cheap cloth that was included with the polyWatch tube.
Frankly - for any MB owner - Novus #2 is great to have - works wonders on acrylic (like your Dash Clock) - fine scratches on Piano Lacquer or "shiny" wood trim, body light scratches or paint transfer - the abrasive is "diatonomous earth" also called DE (fossilized diatoms) which breaks down under pressure - unlike "silica" abrasives that stay abrasive and can cause additional scratches if too much pressure is used.
