Front License Plate Bracket for G550 (W463A)
Hey team! Getting the below G550 delivered from out of state (woohoo!) and in my excitement didn't think about my state's requirement for front plates. Any recs for brackets? I just want to be able to put a license plate frame over the plate.

My new G550 came with a bracket (which I asked them not install). But, you can probably get the factory bracket from your local MB parts dept. It's just a simple black plastic bracket that is form fitted for the car. But, like mentioned above, I would run your car without the plate in the front. It's low risk and high reward (looks so much better) !

Congrats on the new ride!

Colorado is a 2 plate state, and not having valid plates mounted as legally prescribed can get you a $100 ticket if the LEO's in a bad mood that day (or if it's an add-on to a moving violation). Cruisers here also camera scan oncoming vehicles for wants and warrants (no front plate might get you stopped just for an ID check). I can't see my front plate from the driver's seat, and am too cheap to pay $100 so that people I don't know think my ride looks cool without a front plate.

lol that $100 ticket is less than a tank of gas for your G!! Ohio used to be a 2 plate state and I have never been pulled over for a missing front plate or ticketed in more than 20 years of driving without one. Cops in Ohio almost never pulled over drivers for just a missing front plate because most of the surrounding states around Ohio did not require front plates. Finally that requirement was dropped last year.

Maybe when the folks at Colorado's DMV realize the cost of 2 plates exceeds the revenue they make back from it, they'll join the single plate club. The registration slips they print now are on tissue paper, and DMV is always looking for ways to shave costs.

Agreed. My state also requires a front license plate but I specifically asked the dealer to not install the bracket when taking delivery. Been daily driving my G for a year now without any issues... and have even received compliments from officers who never brought up the missing front plate.
Congrats on the new ride!
