They ultimately got Very Greedy in this one, overpriced due to the dealer markups on the regular G wagons and other high-end models.
Now there are a total of 152 G63 4x4 new and used on Auto Trader lol Prices will be going down way quicker than expected ..

LOOK @ this one : @ $220K

Agreed I pretty much decided I’m going w ordering another G63. In a few years when prices are more reasonable I’ll pick up a 4x4^2 on the used market.

I called about that for 220k - fishy story, they were trying to help a client out and that it did sell, for more than that, but they don't know how much and its still listed because paperwork is still being done, told them id by cash now and got nothing in reply really. Oh well.

As for my own, I gave it back to MB 2 weeks ago, full refund inc adm and ppf/ceramic. Good deal as I would of lost a lot if I kept it. Got to drive it 1500 miles (it was fixed as well).

For sure fishy, my best guess is that they tried to list it for $320k instead of $220k.

They will have a hard time even at MSRP, this car its not practical, overrated, and over priced from the get-go.

My dealer called me again and they now say what if they can do a little lower than MSRP, I was like really really, I still said no.

will wait for when they are under $300k, which it might not be long for sure. anybody trading a 2022 back to the dealer will probably only get around $250k and the dealer will try to sell it at $290k to $300k.

I figure 250-270k would be ok 😬. Money don’t exactly grow on trees here...

Two options

Have been working on deals for months. Finally here we go.

Need your opinions

option 1) 2022, new, recall complete, cardinal red mango. Priced at msrp

option 2) 2023, new, not part of recall, black magno. 28k markup

Was about to go with the 2023 matte black (preferred color) then the opportunity for the 2022 at msrp came up.

what’s the best move. big price difference

That car has been sitting in CA for a very long time. I would not buy the Red one. But that is my humble opinion. I decided to pass on these.

It’s a different dealership but I value your point.

Red 22 Sitting since December 2021. Recall just done. Buying it Msrp is the obvious appeal

Black 23. 28k Markup is there. But the 23’s have been selling at over msrp with multiple sold each week (I’ve been watching). 50 seems to be standard markup.

@kinjal how are they treating the warranty on the 22, has that vehicle been punched as sold yet or is the full warranty still available? Any other warranty considerations by MB since it was a recalled one? This scenario is reminiscent of the 2014 GT3s, albeit much less severe imo.

full warranty. It has not started until it’s sold

double check that with MB. Most manufacturers force start warranties at a certain start date. That might not be the case here due to the recall, but certainly worth verification. I wouldn’t pay $40k over on a ‘23.

yes I checked and it’s correct. Warranty starts when purchased

They are giving me good trade value for my car for the 23 model, and paying for shipping, so it ends up being 28k over msrp when factoring it all in

I would personally stay away from the red one, way too many of that color!!
The prices are going down from $150K over to $40K now and it's going down from there!!
Personally, I'm waiting for the right build at MSRP.

My build is supposed to be completed next week. Of course, it has to get her from Germany. So, delivery in early December. Finally!

Salesman said it was going to be a 24-model year. However, he's been wrong before. Curious, if anyone knows if they've moved the model year for the later builds.

I called a local dear that had a 22 for sale (1100 miles), wife hated it and refused to get in it. Thus, the reason for the sale. It was listed in the 430's, but he said the current offers are much closer to MSRP. Just sold, not sure what he finally got for it.

This thread is very timely, and I was going to the same question. My deal is $40k over listing, of course it was for a car I spec'd out. But I see a ton of cars listed for sale online. Wasn't sure if the recall destroyed the excitement for the car and with so many cars for sale, and the ADM was unreasonable.

In essence, should go shopping for another car to avoid the ADM or stick with my build. And of course, is there a premium for post-recall cars?

Sounds like the cars are still moving and getting $40 ADM. I'm not too concerned with the best deal, but certainly don't want the worse deal.

your deal is good. You’re not getting closer than 30 over msrp elsewhere. And you’re getting exactly what you want!

The recall really flipped this deal on its head for me by exposing that more will be produced than I originally expected (350-400 vs. 750+). The recall itself makes me hesitant too - this is supposed to be an off-road beast and it couldn't even make it out of a dealership before it got disabled for a year. Hope there aren't any other issues. I don't love that there will be at least 3 years of them either (22-24). Can't see the value of these holding up very well, it's probably smarter to buy one in a year or so. I'm disappointed - I was really looking forward to purchasing a new one, but Mercedes really fumbled this one.

How much under MSRP was the dealer willing to go? Were they requiring that you finance it to get that deal?

If you're expecting a brand new Squared to be sold by an MB dealer for under $300k you're dreaming.

I mean, sure, I'd love to pick one up myself, but base MSRP is $350k.

Mercedes Benz bought it back, not the dealer. I was told it would go to auction. It was dropped off at the dealer though as that's where I had to meet the agent handling my case from Sedgwick. Signed some papers, they gave me full check for it inc ppf. taxes I had to file separately and took 4-6 weeks to get that check.
