Now I’m actually interested ….. tons of chatter about specs and build and delivery dates etc …. But no one has said what they’re paying related to MSRP. anyone want to offer up what they’re paying over MSRP?? Or do you actually not know yet?

Since no one has seen MSRP yet, most allocation ADM chatter from dealers has been "it will be at least XXXXX dollars...". I think many dealers are waiting to see what the MSRP is and making their decision from there. A guy I know with an allocation has said he has agreed to $50K over. That's probably going to be on the low end of what most dealers ask. It won't surprise me if $100K over is the norm since many dealers are still asking (and gettting) $50K+ over on regular G63s that are sitting on their lots.

I've heard up to $150k over.

My dealer still does not have an MSRP. 6 people ahead of me on the list so I’m not actually expecting to get one.

If I were MB AG, I would produce as many as people who are committed and proven buyers/collectors (i.e., not flippers) want.

This is great money for MB. It's probably going to be in the $260k MSRP range (just a hunch), and that's money left on the table at a time when MB can't afford to leave money on the table.

Just curious. Will the LED lightbar on the roof be functional on the 2022 G63 4x4? Wasn't the lightbar deactivated from the from factory on the 2017 model due to U.S. regulations?

I hope so! But, I don't think anyone knows for sure yet.

For a brand. The optimal production number is 1 unit less than market demands. This is what upscale clothing designers do in order to create a rush to buy it or miss it illusion. Apple was successful in doing that by limiting the initial availability of iphones and showing the waiting list getting longer with every release to create the annual rush before Christmas. Hermes of course is notorious in doing that with the Birkin and Kelly bags and now almost all the other designer shops in Europe are making people wait at the door to enter. Ferrari and Lamborghini have been doing that for years and with the chip shortage following Covid-19, production of all cars dramatically slowed allowing luxury auto makers such as Mercedes to deploy the same tactics with their higher end products. I expect to see this game of artificially limited production going forward on all the high end cars for the foreseeable future.

This is a very tired argument. I've been hearing it for decades.

1 unit less than demand does not yield $150k ADMs. 1 unit less than demand yields no inventory eating dust.

Agree with you but that is what their marketing people are telling them to do. Mercedes very easily has the capacity to divert resources from their less expensive products and create the factories to crank out all the additional G63s and 4X4 Squares in all colors and variations to eliminate any waiting time. The shortage is nothing but a halo effect marketing ploy for the brand that helps them sell the other 1 million cars a year. Just like Hermes makes the most money from the perfumes and belts and scarves and apple watch bands and makes everyone wait 2 years for the coveted bags.

Order in Germany

The market price in Germany is apparently 100.000€ over the regular G63 price.

I was able to take a closer look at the 4x4 in person this past weekend at Monterey Car Week. Here are a few pictures that I took. Yes, it looks even cooler in person (Pictures don't do justice)! It appears that the sunroof will still be functional even with the professional roof rack. I also noticed a warning label on the rear step ladder going to the roof that said there was a 100kg weight limit.

Great pics @63fanboy . I agree, it looks way cooler in person!

Thanks for the pricing ino @stejohn . That's about where I was expecting it to land. With ADM that most dealers in the US are going to charge this will be a $375K-$450K truck easily.

what is ADM meaning?
All MB dealers in Germany charging the same price. Without any markup.
The after market price of course will be increase.

ADM stands for Additional Dealer Markup. It’s pretty common here in the US. Particularly on G63s.

crazy. Two years ago I got 15 percent discount at all MB vehicles. G63 as well. Currently the cut the discount. Just 5 percent are possible. And the standard price rising up to 10 percent.

Only in the past few years, especially since in the past few years people have started to flip cars like they flip sneakers.

The whole thing is a joke.

This is why ADMs exist.

Curious for those who have seen the G63 squared in person, those who have done their specs, or anyone on the forum… how do y’all think a grey or silver (non-magno) would look with a brown interior (saddle, tartufo, espresso)

Looks like a total of 296 cars allocated and/or produced.

Thanks for the reply/info!

And ouch, if that's where they're stopping at, that's a very low number. (And likely means I won't be getting one since my dealer has not received an allocation yet.)

I am expecting a 260-275 MSRP on my vehicle. My 4x4 is produced but on hold at the port. Agreed ADM was 50k when i placed the deposit early last year. I assume that the vehicle will be here November.
