Brake Controller on 2019+ G Wagons

Has anybody used a brake controller when they tow with their G?

Is the 2019+ Pre-wired for a plug and play controller? Up to 2018 is not from what I can find. I have not been able to find a wiring harness that specs a 2019+ G550. This seems odd as I know other Mercedes’ models are pre-wired for this, but maybe my searches are poor.

Also the other solution I have found is a

CURT 51180 Echo Mobile Electric Trailer Brake Controller with Bluetooth-Enabled Smartphone Connection

has anyone used this?
no wiring and pretty good reviews on Amazon.

Trying to gear up for a road trip and need to source something asap.

thx

The reason I ask is that for loads less than 3,000 lbs (trailer + cargo) you normally don't need a trailer braking system on the trailer (these are usually single axle trailers spec'd to carry less than 2,000 lbs. of cargo). If you're planning to tow a tandem axle trailer with cargo greater than 3,000, then the trailer will be equipped with a braking system that you'll need to control. But there are several types of trailer braking systems, and you'll want to equip your G with a compatible system. Sorry if I'm telling you what you already know. Do you know the trailer spec and its braking system?

i had an add-on brake controller added to the trailer. I didn't bother with the oem wiring. I looked at the previous gen's installation and was too much work. I do alot of DIYs too. I used the prodigy RF on my car hauling trailing. It's not movable to different trailers if you're renting
