lumbar support

Hi,

I purchased a new G550 for my wife but at the time we didn’t realize lumbar support didn’t come standard and that this feature only comes with the seat comfort package option, which the dealership car didn’t come with. Is there any way to purchase this option after the fact?

Thank you.

Edmond

You would have to get new seats, or a lumbar cushion off Amazon. That is why I always spend the money on the inside since that is where one spends the most amount of time; however, I understand where you are coming from since unless one looks closely at what options contain you would not know.

I do the same. Unfortunately it was a unique situation. My wife's car got hit and totaled. She fortunately was fine, and we looked at cars online for the next few days and decided on the G 550. Mercedes didn't have the build website working to learn about the options, we saw a color combination / build that looked great online that was immediately available with the $5,000 exclusive interior package and took it for granted that it would have lumbar support. We never asked the out of state dealer whether it did, so it never came up. They were extremely professional, so no complaints. I didn't know whether it was something that could be added after the fact, so I did this post. The car is absolutely beautiful but lesson learned.

it should have lumbar support with the $5000 exclusive interior package. Check the seat controls in the command screen

I looked into it and apparently the g550 has to come with the the comfort package in addition to the exclusive interior package.

that is correct! usually seats with the diamond stitching have it. in the command center you can also get to see the massage options then.
