Wheel Offset

I was hoping someone could help me with a few questions regarding wheel offset. I am in the process of giving my 2021 G550 a facelift to look like a G63. This includes new fender flares. The G63 fender flares stick out slightly further than the original so i want to be sure that my new wheels sit flush like they would on a stock g63. According to the 2021 order guides the stock wheels on the G550 have an offset of ET32 and the G63 has an offset of ET36. i admittedly have no knowledge of offsets but form my research the lower the number the more they should stick out. therefore according to these numbers the G63 wheels don't stick out as far as the G550. to confuse the issue i am looking to buy a takeoff set of g63 wheels and the seller tells me that they have an offset of +45 and they are trying to tell me that this is the same offset as stock. can anyone offer any insight? Thanks

Offsets only tell you how far from the center the middle of the wheel is located. You need to know the width of the wheel to get the full picture.

The 22" factory G63 wheels for '19+ model years are 22x10, +36
The 20" factory G550 wheels for '19+ model years are 20x8.5, +32

So, the G63 wheel sticks our farther from the hub by 15mm and goes in more towards the suspension by 23mm.

There is a handy calculator here for determining the differences between wheel offsets and widths.
