USA market vs Canada 2025
Hey fellas -
getting back into a g63 here again ((I’m up in Canada) and got an early allocation.
We pay an insane amount of tax here in BC and my family is moving to Tennessee next spring. Is it currently difficult to purchase a 2025 in the USA? Has demand slowed at all?
just trying to weigh out if it’s worth waiting and purchasing in the USA since I won’t be receiving it until Feb/March anyway.
thanks!

Couple of things to note: you will probably be pushed to the back of the line for that dealer in the states given you will be a new customer to them. Not sure how long the wait in TS is.
Also yes, like you mentioned we get destroyed by luxury tax up here. But dealers can't charge ADM's for new G's (at least mine cant), whereas they most definitely do in the states. How much depends on your market, places like NY and Cali pay more than others.
Once MSRP is confirmed for both us and USA, call them and ask how long the wait is and how much ADM they will be charging and go for the cheaper option.

Isn’t it a costly process to import from Canada into the US? I was watching a video from Motormouth in Vancouver and they mentioned the luxury tax. Insane.
I think it’d be better to buy in the US but also depends on the wait?

As for buying in the US, I ordered a 2025 G63 2 weeks ago at MSRP being a new customer for the dealership (albeit I've bought many Mercedes' over the years in Canada). It is scheduled to arrive in Dec. You should be able to order one now for delivery next year at MSRP if you ask around. Even if you have to pay an ADM up to 30-40k, you'll still save money as compared to BC.

Yeah, luxury taxes are absolutely insane in BC. If I was still in BC, I would have paid a full 100k more, had to wait a few extra months for delivery, and may not have been able to customize my order as much.

Don't buy in Canada. Mercedes Benz Canada may not let you export your G63 to the US (https://www.mercedes-benz.ca/en/admissibility) – they don't give letters for MY 2021 or newer. I moved from Vancouver to WA and they did not let me bring my vehicles. Also, why give the Canadian government money for being incompetent lol.

and agree with giving this incompetent government more money.
