Glass breakage affect fob performance?

Glass breakage affect fob performance?
A lovely bunch of thiefs broke every single window on my 2019 g550.
I took the vehicle for the insurance claim to Safelite, who claims to use the same calibration process as the dealer and is covered in our insurance. Now that the repair is done the key fob is opening the door, locking working in panic but the vehicle itself is reading that there is low battery in the fob and wont allow the car to start except when it's placed in the ashtray slot.
I've replaced the battery in both fobs and both perform the same. Can lock, unlock the vehicle from a very long distance but inside the car its saying battery is low and to place key in the slot. Is this associated with the window replacement or just luck that it broke when they were fixing the windows.

I saw your post today, and I'm surprised nobody has chimed in yet.
It's so disappointing that someone broke your windows. You're handling it better than a lot of people. Hang in there.
I don't have any insights to offer other than it just seems that windows and key fob behavior wouldn't seem to be linked.
Do you have a better tester? Check the key fob batteries in case they really are low. Or, buy some new CR2025 batteries and try again just in case the existing batteries are bad (unlikely, but worth a try).
I hope some of the other guys who always have good insights jump in soon
