Speedometer Calibration After Installing 285 45 R22 Tires?

I'm considering installing some 285 45 R22 All Terrains and I notice that these are about 1-1.5" greater in diameter than OEM. This will throw off the speedometer. Has that been an issue for anyone?

Thanks!

I think that’s the same size as my winter tires. I don’t think you will have to recalibrate the speedometer.

If I recall I think it's like a 1-2% difference. Maybe 2 mph when going at highway speeds. I'd just let it be--the odometer will run a little slower but not really enough to make a difference.

There's an online Speedometer Calibration Calculator
https://tiresize.com/speedometer-calibration/

I replaced my OEM tires (Pirelli 295/40 22) with Continental all weather tires (285/45 22).
The replacement tires are slightly taller (about .8 inch) than the OEM tires.
Taller tires result in the speedometer showing a higher speed. In my case, the error is about 2.5 percent
For example:
Speedo reads 60 MPH - Actual 62 MPH
Speedo reads 100 MPH - Actual 103 MPH

Be mindful of the increase in tire diameter will likely raise the height above the factory specifications for the vehicle (i.e., 77.4 inches or 6' 5.4"). This is important because the G63 is a tall vehicle to begin with. I've had way too many close calls with parking garage clearances. I'm not sure if it's a SoCal thing, but I would estimate my '24 G63 doesn't fit the maximum height clearance of at least 1/3 of the parking garages in LA.

Be safe.

I agree about parking garages. Mine still fits in both my garages with that size winter tires. I didn’t install the winter tires last winter on my 24 because it came with all season tires. My 21 came with summer tires.
