Late last month, 26 August, we purchased a 2024 G63 new from a dealer here in Korea. It's a base model but it has massage seats and other options that are standard in Korea but not in the US. With the exchange rate we paid about $171k. Ther is no mark up here by the dealers.
She found out this morning that MB Korea had a $15k off sale for the Korean Thanksgiving in September. We are a little disappointed, she's pissed. They are trying to dump all the 2024s to make room for the new face-lift version. I was told we should have waited and bought a 25. I am not a fan of anything hybrid. They still haven't released the MSRP here so I think we got a great deal on the 24. Could have been better if we waited a week though. On the Korean blogs no one wants to buy a discounted 24 because the 25 is a face-lift so they think it must be better. They are than happy to overpay for things for status reasons. This is how she sees the one we bought now. This what we actually have. Women....

You'll be glad to know it's just a starter generator that assists the V8. It's not an actual hybrid, nor is it plug in. It's just there for a little bit of performance boost, not for fuel efficiency or economical reasons as it negligibly improves efficiency. I had the same dilemma of going for a 24 or waiting for a 25 but the new MBUX and keyless go integration were enough for me to hold out for a 25.
