Rear Main Seal Questions
Long story short RMS was completed in my 2020 G63 last week at about 55k miles and under CPO. I was called today that after a test drive the CEL came on for failing oil pump. They are giving me some BS about a 90 warranty claim where they can’t go back to do the oil pump for 90 days under warranty. Something about would be redoing a lot of the same work and MB won’t warranty that for them?!?
I don’t feel good about this as the oil pump never triggered a CEL until their test drive.
This is also when I tell you they have had the car since basically Oct 3 2024. I dropped it off with long list of issues and oil leak. Told them the lease was the RMS and they declared it due to stripped oil drain plug. Leaving me on the hook as the selling dealership took no responsibility. Upon pickup Jan I drove it for 10 days before noticing lots oil under the car. Car dropped off Feb 7 2025. This time they agree it’s the RMS which completed last week and today the above update on oil pump.

I feel sorry for them because MBUSA will not be repaying them for all that labor but they have to fix it. They can literally lose their franchise for trying to pull off BS like that. Tell them you will be calling/notifying MBUSA corporate if they don’t start asap. Also check your local lemon laws
