What do you think about these bumper customizations?

I bought a 2004 clk320 and like it so much I would like to also get a G 500 in the same bright silver metallic color.
I was outbid on an extremely nice original 2004 G 500 on cars and bids.
So I am looking for another.
I found one in Seattle, but the bumper and grill and lights were all updated to modern ones.
I actually liked the subdued original look of the front end.
It looks like, to fit the bumper, they had to cut the wheel arch fender parts in the front.
Do you think these 'upgrades' have reduced the value of the car, compared just leaving it alone?
