Wheel torque spec different between countries??

Hey guys, I'm based in Japan and while I was reading through the w465 manual, I realized the wheel torque spec written in the Japanese manual is different than the one for US/Canada. The Japanese version actually has an addendum to tighten, instead of 180Nm, to 150Nm for non-AMG and 130Nm "max" for AMG. Meanwhile, the US/Canada version says 180Nm no exception... Can wheel torque spec be different between markets??? (Yes, all the wheels available for Japan are available over there too...) Does anyone in the US/Canada know if there's any addendum/update on the torque spec over there?

That's a weird one. Yes, specs can sometimes differ by market due to different approved parts or service bulletins we don't see.

Stick with your Japanese manual. It's likely a corrective update for your specific market. The US version might be outdated or for different wheel hardware. 130Nm max for AMG is a huge difference they wouldn't print that without a reason. Use the spec for your region.

This. Torque spec sometimes can vary depending on model year as well for example the torque spec in Canada for a 2017 C sedan and previous model years of the same W205 generation was 96 lb ft but for some reason it became 110 or something starting 2018 and model years after that.

Well, I made sure to compare W465 manuals and both are the latest March 2025 version… Trust me, I had to double check cuz I couldn’t believe it… 130Nm and 180Nm are a huge difference…

Is not that I don't trust you, don't get me wrong, just that I noticed differences between model years as well.

Always check the spec for your exact model year. They can and do change, even in the same generation. Don't rely on older info.
