I have a 2017 g63 and I actually like the spare tire box/cover. I’m also running a 275/55r20 tire that won’t fit under the w463 spare cover. Does anyone know if for sure the spare cover from a w463A/w465 would fit over my spare?
My '19 G550 came with Pirelli 275/50R20's mounted and a Continental 265/50R20 hidden under the spare cover, presumably because MB wanted to avoid tooling costs for an adequately sized spare cover on an already overpriced $140K vehicle. BTW, this mismatched tire was listed as a "full size spare" on the vehicle documents, but has a sticker pasted on it that says "45 MPH MAX". I changed all 5 tires to Yokohama Geolander A/Ts in 275/55R20, and bought a Boomerang aftermarket spare cover that fits. I don't know what the geniuses at MB expect you to do with its undersized spare cover after you replace a flat and hang a 275/50R20 on the rear carrier.

The Boomerang cover fits well and doesn't cost a fortune. The fascia is plastic, however, and when closing the cargo door, it wobbles a bit, but the ring is steel and everything is fine otherwise. It's available with a silkscreened MB logo, but I purchased it plain black and dressed it up with a homemade MB logo. Colors are available, but I preferred the black.
