Cruise Control Inactive, clean sensors

First off, I understand the solution is to keep my clean, which I do most of the time.
However, in this case over two days I had to drive 16 hours. During the first day of the drive my my25 G got extremely dirty (salt/snow/rain/etc) and I received several inactive cruise control alerts. I was nearing the end of my drive, so I didn’t do anything about it.

However, on day two, when I had four more hours to drive, I cleaned off the front star in the grill as well as the cameras on the side mirrors. (The main windshield was clean and clear). However, I could only travel a few miles before I would receive the warning and my cruise control would shut off.
Based on my research, there’s no way to override the distronic cruise control going back to the old days where cruise control just kept the speed and didn’t worry about distance for lane centering….🤦🏼‍♂️

Anyway, I was wondering what sensors need to be cleaned to keep my cruise control working? I cleaned the obvious ones, I didn’t mess with the parking sensors as I didn’t figure that would affect the distronic system, but looking for a solution to having cruise control in a pinch when completely cleaning the car isn’t convenient or quickly available.

I would’ve thought if Mercedes completely disabled old-school cruise control, they would at least have washers for the sensors that would clean them when you clean your windows in order to keep your cruise control working….

Thanks in advance

If road conditions and weather are coating these sensors with dirt and debris, likely you shouldn't be using cruise control.

They were dirty from the previous day of travel. That’s why I am asking what sensors need to be cleaned…

I guess because of the long hours of driving there's more grime than usual. since you've already cleaned the windshield, try cleaning all all the front bumper sensors, and the MB emblem. hope that helps.

Drive into a DIY car wash. Drop a couple dollars of quarters into the coin slot, and wash all the crud off the front end -- the grill, bumper and windshield.
