W465 Star Removal
The 2025+ G63 models have a different star emblem on the front grill. On my 2020 G63 the star was able to be removed by sliding a credit card behind the emblem and it popped out but it now seems that the star clips on to a backing plate and the backing plate is attached to the grill. Does anyone know how to remove the star/backing plate?
Trying to replace with the illuminated star (the new VPC option but which is compatible with 2025+ models). If anyone has instructions for install, would be much appreciated.

You have to pull the whole grille off. Backing plate is screwed from behind. No credit card trick anymore. Remove grille, then you’ll see four Torx screws holding the star plate. Illuminated star for 2025+ requires a different harness too check if your VPC kit came with the CAN connector.
