I am going to pick up my '05 G55 tomorrow and I was wondering if they have the same chirp problem as the other supercharged m-bs. I have a '03 SL55 which developed a chirp when the supercharger engages. I asked the sales manager and he had never heard of such a problem. I love the G (I am going to trade in my G500) so I doubt my mind is going to change, but I would just like to know.

... and the updated G is a minivan... get a real G while they last...

Chirp you say, nahh havent heard no chirps from my 05 G55 which has 14k on it, only noise (besides some annoying squeaks from the rear hatch) is a slight whine that sounds like a police siren in the distance and that is only audible when slowing down, cant hear much anything else when you stomp on her due to that delicious sounding exhaust note

all of the AMG kompressor engines have this "issue".
THe noise is from clutch engaging around 1500. SC takes a lot of power ( according to press people ~70hp) to spin. At the moment of engagement is it not possible to avoid clutch slip and you may hear noise.
I think there was a tech bulletin about this.
