2005 Porsche Cayenne Turbo
Hey Everyone....New to the forum.....Great Looking and even better performing G Ted!!! Congrats on those monster numbers!!!! How does the G55 handle in the turns?? i would imagine with a skidpad average around .65 it does ok....also do you guys have any aftermarket suspension systems for these trucks?? Anyone in the Boston/NYC/Philly area with one of these....I have an 05 Cayenne Turbo and im looking to run one of you guys and have a comparison test.
My Performance Mods:
1.Fabspeed Cat-Back Exhaust
2.Fabspeed 2ndry Cat-Bypass Pipes
3.Hyperboost HX Compact Diverter Valves
4. BMC F1 Air Filters
And coming this holiday season
5.GIAC X3 or FVD stage 2 ECU Upgrade
Right now i dont have any dyno numbers but once the ECU happens it will be done @ AWE Tuning.

Hey, I'm new here. Lovely G, Ted. I just bought a 2003 G55 AMG. The car is black and it has 15,000 miles. The G is going to be my first ever car and I plan on keeping it so I wanted to do something special. I love the Brabus GV12, so I called my local Brabus dealer, and he found the GV12 body kit for me. He said it was the only one in the US. He also qouted me on the Brabus GV12 rims and tires.. In total, it's about $16,000. I'm wondering what you all think. I also wanted to do some performance mods, but I don't know what's best. I know starting with a 2005 G 55 K would be easier to get more performance, but my parents are buying me the car and they're not willing to spend $100,000. I would love some opinions, as this is a longterm project for me... Great message board by the way,
Richard

Yes, I know this vehicle was not built for the track, but I have heard that boosted Kompressors can get quiiiiiite warm sitting in hot summer standstill traffic.

Out Of Control!!
Wow SICK G and to the other guy nice porsche...
Ted, hopefully you will consider coming up to the Northeast for our AMG meet, like Derek and his E class, your G55 is one AMG that all the owners look up to.
I love everything you did minus the rear spoiler and scrolling plate frame(might be too much for a daily driver) but hey it is yours and not mine... About the leather who did that? I wasnt thinkning about any interior mods till I just saw yours some nice white would look really great against the ML55s interior...
Way to inpire us!!!

Nice car Ted! I cant believe i stumbled upon this thread. I actually have seen your car in person when it was in the shop being modified at Donnie's shop in ATL before it closed down. Very cool car, if anyone else here knows of or has seen Donnie's work before, the attention to detail should come as no surprise. He seemed very proud of his work when he was showing me and my friend everything he had done to it.

Climate controls
Ted, I just noticed that your climate controls are digital; is that aftermarket? My 2005 G55 Grand Edition has manual dials for temp, fan, etc. so I'm wondering if you had added that yourself?

Meaning you purchased the unit from the dealer and had it installed (or installed it yourself)? Was it an easy swap/plug and play?
I don't understand why a 2005 G55 would still have analog a/c controls. Also, why, when I'm into my gas reserve, why doesn't it show me miles to empty!! My 2005 E has this, but my 2005 G still retains the same technology as my 2000 G.

A/C Controls for 2006+ G55?

Another thread resurrection here. Is this A/C console you used from a later model G55 pre 2009? My 2003 G55 has the analog dual knobs that are in need to replacement pretty soon. If this one you used is a standard pre 2009 G55 part and can be easily swapped I am all for the mini facelift of mine.
Was it a straight forward plug and play for yours?
Thanks.
