My 2005 G55 Grand Edition makes a horrible whistling noise when the engine is cold. I have had my car into the mercedes dealership 5 times already and they can't figure it out. Has anybody else had this problem and if so how did mercedes fix it?

..........you probably have belt noise. Contrary to what many think, it is just the belt that is the problem. Something is likely wrong with your pulley. Either it is not aligned properly or the pulley itself is defective.

I had the same problem when I got my 2005 G55. Really terrible whinning noise when cold. Took it to the dealer who checked and found one drive belt was slightly worn, just a couple mm off. Replaced the belt and now engine sounds great! No more high pitched noises. All covered under warranty.
