I have a 2004 and have not had any serious problem, but a few minor issues such as side trim that has started to peel of and a major air conditioning failure...but these are probably related to the climate it's used in (Dubai).
You should also be aware that the 2003 and 2004 G55 while not being supercharged do have unusually stiff suspension which was later adjusted in the 2005 model year to offer better comfort while still performing well. You can easily swap the shock absorbers on a 2004 with those from a 2005+ G55 or G500 to improve comfort.
