The new 550 engine will make it into the G chassis.

I'm 90% sure I'll get one. Finally something worth upgrading for.
I couldn't find out about the AMG motor but I suspect if they went with the G550 the G63 would also make sense. Will continue checking.
No mention of diesel for MY09. Will update if I hear anything different. Still preliminary.

at last some news for the G. I hope they get a new 2009 amg out!!! G63 WITH ADD HP WOULD BE AWESOME!

I doubt there will be a G63 because of the big torque difference. The G needs to keep the 5.5L SC V8.

.........I think the G63 is probably coming. I did not think so before, but I don't see them keeping the s/ced engine just for the G.
