G Class Diesel AMG
Hi everyone, I have been following this message board for months but never really wrote anything given the fact that I am not an G55 owner so I feel that I could not contribute anything pertinent. Anyway... 
Given the fact that the G Class is said to be discontinued in 2015, do you think that it's likely that AMG will ever release a diesel model? Just wondering! Thanks for your time

MB discussions about discontinuing the G Class are about as reliable as the Mayan Calendar is in predicting the end of civilization. In any case, don't get your hopes up for an AMG tuned diesel G (or any diesel G if you live in the US). The good news is that they are at least forecasting sales out to 2015, which means that they don't lend much credibility to the 2012 phenomenon.

2004 G270 CDi LWB
A friend of mine has a G320 CDi that has been tuned by AMG. Im not exactly sure what was done to it but its quicker than the standard car. All work was done at the factory before it was delivered to him. He is one of the Mercedes Directors in the Middle East so I think it was a one off special for him.

I cant give exact figures but I was told the accelaration was impressive. Another director has a G500 and it was as quick as that off the line until the G500 eventually pulled away. All that with a better MPG too!
