running in instructions/cleaning the G55

I have a 2010 g55 and ive gone 1500 kms so far and the sticker says that i should avoid going above 4500 rpm and over 85 mph for the first 1000 miles....i called the mercedes dealership to tell them that im almost 1000 miles the guy there said there is no such thing as a first service after 1000 miles u can just drive the engine to the maximum after 1000 miles straiught away and the first service is after a year or 20000kms....

if anyone out there has some experience and can please answer me because i dont want to risk damaging the car....at this point can i go upto 6500rpm and go to a higher speed than 85mph?

and please if everyone out there does the cleaning themselves for their G class can they give me any tips on what they use for cleaning the exterior body and windshields(especially the vertical front windshield which is constantly getting dirty) and if you have any extra tips they will be appreciated because i never really payed attention to the cleaning of cars untill i got the g55.

will upload some pics soon and thanks in advance for the replies

I wasn't aware there was a 1st service at 1K miles either but I'll check to confirm.

As far as cleaning goes, I have it detailed by a pro once a year and the rest, I use detailers products to clean it: silicon free sponges, ph neutral products ...

There is no 1,000 mile / 1,500km service for the G-Class...now you can drive it like you stole it.

Normally the vehicle will tell you when it's due for a service, or some dealers in the region specify 10,000km as their recommended service intervals. Regardless, your user manual or service booklet that came with the G55 will specify service intervals.

Just gradually increase your speed/rpm after the break-in period to be on the safe side. That is what I did. No need for any service

The manual suggests changing the differential oil (front and back) after 3000 KMs for G55s. I've changed the diffs oil on mine as the manual suggested, it shouldn't do any harm. The manual mentioned something like "this will increase diff life and lower diff locker noise".

Enjoy your new ride
