Front Grill or Brush guard!

Hello folks!

I live in Dubai and will be ordering a 2011 G55!

I've started liking the look of the G55 without the front grill or brush guard, if this is the correct way to call it at all!

Would anyone know what the price difference would be without the grill?

Would anyone also know the pricing of the 2011 G55 in Dubai keeping in mind the drop of the Euro?

I've decided on the White with the Designo Red interior.

Please let me know.

Thanks

Hi JkP,

Few things to note...there are rumors of some visual changes to the 2011 model to conform to EU pedestrian safety regulations, but no confirmation yet. You can order a G55 without the front brush guard from Gargash, and the savings would be roughly AED 5k. 2011 model year production will start in September, so anything you order a with a build date after Sept 1st will be a 2011 model. 2012 AMG G-Class is expected to switch to the new twin-turbo V8 engine offering more power and better fuel efficiency. It may be called the G63.

Gargash buys Mercedes vehicles from Daimler in USD, so changes in the value of the Euro will not affect the price much here. A good estimate would be AED 515-600k depending on the specification and whether you get any custom work done by AMG. In terms of colors, there are now several different "whites" available for the G55. I suggest you see paint samples for each before deciding on one. An interesting non-standard color would be Designo Cashmere Magno which is a matte finish...but expensive.

Thanks for the info!

I plan to book the vehicle in Sept!

Why would Gargash buy Mercedes vehicles built in Europe in USD? I dont get it!
May be this is an excuse to not lower the price!

I remember a few years ago when the Euro went up they said prices are being affected by the rising Euro. Now they buy in USD?

Please provide an explanation if you can. It just sounds like an excuse to charge exorbitant profits!

Must be different from region to region. Here in the US, orders placed now will get you a 2011 model by end September/October.

So the wait time is 4 to 5 months in the US?

I think the Middle East wait time is around 6 months.

Wait time in Dubai is/was 4-6 months when I bought mine at the end of April. Also, prices here are in USD because most of the GCC currencies are tied to the dollar. The Daimler Middle East & Levant GCC price list can be downloaded from:
