Comand Upgrade
I currently have a 2008 G55, US version. We drove from NJ to Nevada and back in September. 5300 Miles. 
The vehicle was awesome, the Comand unit 
wasn't so awesome. Now I purchased the 2010 Comand G55 version and want to have it installed into my '08. I have some idea that it is not just a straight plug-n-play conversion. The new unit has a built-in HDD, bluetooth and CD changer. I am (obviously) looking for advice as to what I need to get to make it happen.
HELP, please !!!

Not a common mod and I'd assume your best source of info. would be from either your dealer or high end audio shop.

Try contacting the guys at http://www.comandonline.co.uk/ for help, but it may not be possible. The COMAND system is linked to many other systems in the vehicle, and it may not be possible to do what you want.

Has anyone figured a way to enable DVD while car in motion; and to get rid of the command warning on startup. It would also be cool to enable the back up camera on demand (as opposed to when just in reverse).

Today a mechanic put the unit in. MB had to do some lengthy reprogramming. Now the unit works to some extend. No sound, but the GPS works fine, the phone connects via bluetooth, radio works but no satellite yet. DVD and CD changer work, load etc. No sound whatsoever. The only thing doesn't show any image is the backup camera. No sound from the backup sensors either. I once heard somewhere that a new amp would be needed. I guess that's what I need to get. But which one is used with a 2010 Comand? Does anyone know?
