Designo Magno Alanite Gray
#2
Why don't you wait for the 2012 model? There's no significant improvement in the 2011 model, but it's looking more and more likely that '12 will have some interesting upgrades. Also, I'm pretty sure US customers cannot get AMG Performance Studio upgrades like the rest of the world can...nor is magno alanite gray worth the expense effort vs. magno platinum. Actually, alanite gray was offered in the US when the Grand Edition was launched...but only for one model year.

Many good points here.
You mentioned in another thread that the 2012 production begins in September. Might be a "gamble" to order a 2011 now.
This is where I read about the designo magno alanite grey for the US (bottom of the page):

There again, Alanite and Platinum look so similar and the expense to get the Alanite to the US, if in fact you can, is not yet justified.

AMG Performance Studio is not available for North American customers. Besides, with the new engine, gearbox, and options likely for the 2012 model it's really better to just wait.
