Guys do you think this will be the 2012 model or 2013????
i just made a down payment for a new G55 in Saudi, the guys at the agency told me that they will start production in January and i'll get it by End of February

Not sure what model year this will be. Someone I met this weekend is convinced it will be unveiled at the Dubai Motor Show in early November, but I'm not sure. They G55 will be replaced with a G63, and the G65 will come as a limited edition of only 200 units with a big premium on its price.

Do you know if the G63 will be the 6.2L or the new 5.5TT?

Odd that MB is keeping the 6.2 alive just for the C63... I'd rather have the 5.5TT under the hood anyways.

THANKS jimmyg , i not worrying about if its going to be a 63 or 55 what im really worried about is the new interior its amazing!!!
if it turns out i think im gonna pay the penalty around 50K AED and wait for the 2013 model

The word from MB is that the new 5.5 TT motor makes to much torque for the C class chassis to handle.

No word on a TT G63? The thought of spending upwards of $200k on an SUV makes me ill.

To be honest,I did not ask about the G63,only the 65 and new SL (it is gorgeous btw and MB is obviously very succesful in camouflaging that thing)

Our dealer called me yeasterday saying that my G55 sceduled to arrive in February 2012 will be with the new engine but still will be named a G55

Also there's a price increase of 13K USD, but he couldn't confirm if it will be with the new face lift :S

IMO, G55 is a more correct name for the new 5.5 TT then 6.3.....

I totally agree ...

The first AMG G in the U.S. was the G55 (2003). They then added the newer engine, and called it the G55 'Kompressor' (2005). If they are skipping the 6.2L (like it seems they are), the 5.5 TT should be called G55 'Twin Turbo'

FWIW ... Anikan83's Dealer is the first, to my knowledge, claiming the Feb 2012 deliveries, in the U.S., will be the new 5.5L TT engine. I hope they are correct (best torque, and gas mileage, for the G)

I spoke with my dealer who is one of the largest in the US and he has heard nothing about any TT G55s coming in Feb 2012. His exact words were "Not happening, have not heard anything about it especially if it's available in February". I hope he's wrong

Maybe since the gulf is the biggest market for the G55 we get things earlier :p

The new 5.5 V8 is amazing but the old M113 G55 was such a beast, the sound was incredible. The new interior looks good though, it looks like a major change on the inside. On the outside the car is amazing already, it looks like a tank so I'm glad they kept that look.

The largest MB dealer in Westchester County, NY confirmed US is not getting the G65 and G63 will have 5.5 TT engine.

Not entirely correct,largest MB dealers just had a meeting last week in Germany,saw the new SL and were told G65 was scheduled tentatively for US (50 units).
The final decision is not going to be made for at least another month or 2 so it is still open whether we will get it here.
