Mercedes has made a real mess of things starting with the chop job of the SL(R230), cancelation of the CLK(W209) and now the G!
The wife drive the W209/CLK500 and absolutely hates the E-Coupe and the C-Coupe. She's considering crossing over to an AudiA5-S-Line. Sorry for that soapbox moment

Disagreeing is a good thing guys. I am not here to try to convince others agree with me. I only input my opinion. Life would be boring if we all thought alike.
After owning 2 G55s and driving older G-class models (2003 and 2006) for a year this year, I personally prefer the simpler interior.
Other than the front LED lighters, the giantTomTom screen in the middle of the dash and MB's standard dials (the same ones in Jeeps), I guess it should turn out to be good.

i prefer the "raw out dated" exterior. But if im gonna spend USD290k (2.2mil HKD) for a G55/63 I want something that's comfy with the most updated interior for my *** and eyes.

Based on this photo (taken from mbusa.com), we should expect massaging seats on the G-class? "Puls" as in pulsation or is that lumbar setting?

That picture is not front the G-Class...it's been mistakenly put in the G-Class album by MBUSA's web team. The G-Class (including 2013) does not have Drive Dynamic Seats or massage functions...not that I'd complain if it did. I'm sure it would have had all those features in the 1980's if they had been available.
The 1991 G-Class (first W463) had many of the luxury features from the E & S-Class of the time, so why do you think Mercedes would change a 20+ year successful formula now? I owned a 1991 300GE (Brabus 3.6) and it had plenty of toys for it's time.

Since the 1980s it's been that way There is plenty to complain about when it comes to the G, but the "box shape" isn't one of them.
You might as well complain about the cold air in the winter, then maybe someone will listen.

There's some pictures and press coverage out now, and the official MB G-Class page on Facebook has a highlight video of the launch of the G63 and G65 in Beijing. Seems to have been a very high profile launch and MB and Daimler top brass were present. More should come in the next day or two.

And its unclear if you go aftermarket with something like macarbon that the weave patters will match. Most likely they will not. My dealer here is looking into the options but said it wasn't likely.

Would you mind telling me if it got confirmed on MB's netstar computer? My dealer is telling me even though he has my 10K, the computer isn't ready to place the order. I want designo paint and leather. If your dealer got into the computer, how many leather options did they offer you. In 2012 there were only three options as I recall. Thanks, G
