All systems go!!! She's up and running........ fast!!!!

The gaskets did it! Exhaust is all sealed up nicely.

Idle is good but still not the best. Headers and cats really make it sound like a monster; almost to the point that I think there's a leak somewhere in the exhaust system. I think the ECU is still adjusting a little tiny bit. The power is super smooth in all the gears. The supercharger doesn't really whine like a screw type. It is more of a howl coming from the front and a GROWL coming from the sides. The G55 exhaust was already loud to begin with. With the headers and high flow cats, it's even louder.

I'm so happy the issues have been sorted. More driving impressions soon.

Wow glad to hear that it sounds like it's finally done!

I wonder how different your car drives compared to a 55k from the factory.

I think so!!

I'll let you know the comparison in a bit. I'll try it side by side with my brother's 2009 G55k in an hour or so.

Charging up the go-pro now. The idle could be better but I think that's pretty minor. It could still be due to the ECU adjusting plus the headers and downpipes and cats.

I get CEL once in a while still. Multiple misfires at idle. Am thinking it's the fuel pressure or still something with the vacuum lines although I've checked for vacuum leaks and found nothing.

One thing is for sure. This thing is fast! It doesn't feel like it's 6000lbs anymore.

Was that your Dinan 5 in the background of the photo?

So how do they compare? Any one better or worse, or very similar?

Looks beautiful. What is the horsepower and torque you are expecting?

Yup that's my trusty M5 in the background which has been getting more use than it's been used to, these last 2 months.

I can't say better or worse yet between the two G55's. An immediate difference I did notice is that the Kleemann's power delivery is smoother. And I think the power band is a lot wider on the Kleemann's because of the headers and cats.

It feels like the stock G55k's torque is on full tilt earlier in the rev range but runs out before 6k rpm. The Kleemann's doesn't let up. I didn't floor it yet but it seems like it wants to keep going.

They both sound very similar. Kleemann's just a little louder due to the headers and cats. The two superchargers sound very different too. Where the screw type of the stock G55k whines, the Kleemann's Roots type Eaton blower howls.

Thanks. I'm guessing somewhere around 520hp/500lbft based on what I've read. I'm planning to get it on a dyno next weekend hopefully to check the actual power numbers and AFRs, etc.

Stock your G55 should be around 349hp correct? That's quite impressive that the Kleemann would add 170ish horsepower. From what I recall even the G55k only came with 469hp the first year or so, then later bumped up to 493-510hp range.

Did you dyno before?

Yes stock was about 349 and mine felt on the high side of that figure. It was running really strongly before it went under the knife. Unfortunately i didnt get to take a baseline run before the install.

The supercharger plus ecu reprogram increases output by 140-150hp i believe. The headers and cats add another 30-50hp. I can definitely feel the difference the headers make in the mid to upper part of the rev range.

From what i heard,Stock G55k's power was bumped from 469 to ~500hp with the use of a larger throttle body in 2009. I think Kleemann offers a similar larger throttle body which should bump up the hp even more. I'm really happy with the power increase and feel of the car as it is now, though. It took a while to get it sorted but i think it's all good now.

Just took it out for a quick highway blast and power feels completely smooth and linear. Idle has also gotten better but still not perfect. And I'm getting quite a bit of hunting near idle. I'll hav another short video clip i'll post in a bit

If you can shoot an Email to Cory, he may get a good update ECU data, to flash your ECU and give a better performance result......

Cory already updated my ECU. I sent it over to them when I started the install.

I'll know for sure what else can be done in terms of ECU tuning as soon as I get my toys for diagnostics some data logging in the mail. As of now, I'm happy with the power increase I'm feeling.

Not sure if you've seen this article. This is my old truck and, I believe, the first G55 to get a Kleemann supercharger.

You'll have a blast. Enjoy!

Hi. Yes! This is one of the first articles I read when I started researching anout modifying the G55. I knew I wanted it the minute I read it.

I know yours had the original Autorotor screw type supercharger though. I believe power output on yours was a bit higher than the Eaton roots type that I have. Your boost was a bit higher since screw types are able to run cooler than roots type superchargers at a given boost level.

Have you sold your 2003? Or would you know if it's still on the road? It would be nice to know how it's holding up to the test of time.

The car is running very strong now. Idling has also gotten smoother and the sound is more "fine". I would describe it as a faster "burbling" sound like someone is gargling mouthwash but a lower tone and louder because of the headers.

However, there is still a very very minor hiccup that is noticeable by sound and feel every couple of seconds. Like a minor shudder or shake. I could be nitpicking now but I want it to be perfect. Other than this, it idles nicely at about 600 rpm while in gear and about 700 or 750 in neutral or park.

Also, when I step on the gas slightly to make the car crawl at snail pace (parking lot speed) at about 1000rpm, the engine begins to "hunt" ever so slightly. I get it to stop by stepping on the brake to get the car to go to "idle" speed.

I'm trying to figure out what might be causing this. If anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears. It's one of those things that is very minor but can get annoying.

I'll try to get a video of it in a bit so it's easier to visualize if I haven't described it properly.

I can't seem to get the intake Y connector to seat properly flush on the maf intake. Could this cause idle hunting?

It could be one of the reasons, if it leaking much air at low RPM......

Let's see if this solves the issue. If it does, I will find a more permanent way to keep the Y-Tubing properly seated on the MAF housing.
