There is an option for an all leather steering wheel forgoing the wood / accent on the wheel. Plus this option provides for a heated leather steering wheel. This us what I would do. Personally, I don't like the wood or the piano trims. I spent a lot of money to have the wood on my g55 swapped to carbon.

2019 G63
Interior Option
I ordered my G63, to be built in Feb, with the optional, extra cost, Graphite paint that I only learned about by accident, Mystic Red leather and black wheels along with red calipers and burl walnut steering wheel. I was disappointed that I cannot get the heated steering wheel with burl walnut since my 2005 G55 has exactly that combination. This will be my 6th "G."
Others were 86-280GE, 95-G320, 99-G500, 02-G500 and 05-G55. Actually had what would be a 7th in the form of an 03-G55 with the non-supercharged engine. The suspension was so overly stiff that I took it back to the dealer after 3-days of ownership and got my 02-G500 back.
Looking forward to owning the G63 along with my 08-S63. Second choice for the interior would have been Chestnut Brown.

I LOVE option 4! And since you can't combine the wood/ heated wheel for this model just get the heated wheel if you're even in a semi cold climate during winters. It'll be a nice tradeoff.
If you've really got to have the wood wheel then you can always go a custom route such as through DCTMS. Don't make compromises on your choice based on the constraints that MB sets up. Break through the constraints!

I can't fathom why anyone would order this car without the designo diamond stitch interior. The bunched up leather in the door panels are one of the few small items that irk me about the car.
