I recently changed the front/rear diff fluid on my G63 per instructions on that little sticker affixed to the windshield when new. I cannot stress enough the importance of doing this service, the fluid was dark gray and didn't smell so great. If the dealers say not to worry about this service, they're idiots. Save yourself big bucks long term. I'm assuming Benz fills the diffs with a break-in agent that causes the fluid to deteriorate during the 1,875 mile break-in period. The new fluid that Benz recommends and that the dealers sell is the Castrol LSD 75W140 oil. You'll need roughly 4 quarts of it to get the job done. Hope this helps.
