Tyres for G55

Which of the following would you purchase and why?

Dunlop SP Sport Max

Continental Cross Contact

Michelin Lattitude Sport

Pirelli Scorpion Ice and Snow

All to be in 275/50R20.

I am looking for a road tyre that grips well but not too low profile and tough.

go different size maybe if you want tough and not low profile...275/55 or 275/60 will give you more sidewall

The Pirelli Scorpion Ice and Snow should grip well in rocks with it's soft compound!

Just replaced the Yokohama OEM AVS 285/55R18 4 continental Cross Contact LX20 275/60R18. Reviews were good but I've only had them a few days. I can say they are super quiet, very sticky on corners...all I hear is the roar of the engine, and this is very nice. $181@tire rack here in the US, plus mount/balance.

Do the 275/60's look any different cosmetically from the 285/55? How about ride quality? Being that there is only one choice I can find in the stock size, I am also considering going with a similar setup. Thanks...

Yes, the 275/60 don't have the width...its only 0.5 inches thinner and 0.5" taller and dont look as tough as the AVS. The AVS tread pattern made it look wide and tough. I definitely miss the tough look of the AVS, but dont miss the ride quality. The Conti's LX20's have all but solved all of my rough riding issues. The steering shake was practically gone (I did change the steering damper eventually) and on a smooth road, its pretty silky smooth. I had all four tires road-force balanced and they are holding up great. Its now been about 1000 miles on the tires, so maybe an update after 10K.
