2013 G63 owner/nightmare/problems issues/long thread/please read
I also would appreciate if someone pointed me to one with options I want as I'm sure my dealer won't be looking for it too often as one is on order.Thanx to all
Exterior is Obsidian black and the interior is an upgraded black leather with optional equipment and value added packages - R10 20 in five twin spoke wheels, ZT1 Piano Lacquer Black trim Steering Wheel and PA6 Leather Designo Exclusive Package (diamond pattern stitching). This cost me an additional $4950.
I also purchased a 5-year 50,000 miles prepaid maintenance (STAR MNT50K PPMS-5YR) for an additional US $1799
Current mileage is under 5000 and it's in mint condition (parked in a garage in Brooklyn, NY).
Let me know if you are interested in purchasing it.
Cheers,
d
Funny thing is I had a g550 I bought brand new in 2012 that had a fuel line problem the second day I had it (63 miles on the car, I wanted to cry). Sat in the shop for 3 months due to part manufacturing delay then got bought back by Mercedes.
I bought another g550 that same year and that car was awesome, never gave me any issues. I decided to upgrade to this 2014 g63 now and it's a nightmare. I feel like Mercedes needs to stop upgrading their c classes and e classes and focus on the really expensive vehicles and the high end clientele they being or I should say will stop bringing with the amount of bs that's happening to these cars.
I think this car will be a buy back... Again. I think I'll be switching to a Rover after this.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG

I mean, Id had some ones asssss by now.
Wow...I am so sorry that happened 2 u man...

Has 4k miles on her LWB Autobiography now, have not seen dealer since delivery either.
Must be lucky.....
Nothing but little problem after little problem. Truck was always at the dealer
I'm leasing a Jeep Grand Cherokee until my S63 Coupe arrives in 2 months.
The grand cherokee is a breath of fresh air compared to the G class.
The G63 is a beautiful truck, but i won't be getting one until they do a major overhaul on it, and not just aesthetics, like the current G63.
Needless to say, I'm looking forward to my S63 Coupe.

I bought my car without even test driving it ,hope you got to drive your new S class before placing the order.
Now the bad!!! It's a month old with 600 miles on it and since new the navi screen went and had to be replaced and last week they replaced fuel module or the pump as the car kept giving me the engine light and shutting down while driving

Here is a little cell picture, car is dirty as it was the day I went to fabspeed to get the ADV wheels put on so forgive me for it

I will pits some nice pictures soon.

I know MB electronics aren't known to be the best..
BTW what kind of MPG do people see on the highway at say 85-90 MPH in a G63?
if you're worried about MPG.. this is the wrong car for you.
btw.. Zybane.. what's your username on Lotustalk? I can't find you….
More than anything I'd like to know how far I could go on a tank between refills driving 90MPH on the highway. Stopping for gas all the time could get annoying.
It's what a ~25 gallon tank, so without cutting it too close to reserve fill up around 22 gallons. 90 MPH in G63 is what 11 MPG? 242 miles between pumps! 30+ gallon tank would be nice...
My Lotustalk name is Callsign_Vega

The other take-away is that any kinds of mods put you at risk of issues.
I would never mod a car unless it's out of warranty.
(I spent 15 years as an automotive engineer working in Japan and the U.S., for Toyota, and others.). No one can match Toyota for reliability, but then their cars are boring to drive, not well designed aesthetically, and the head office Serivce is terrible (and this is for lexus).
So the last take-away is the risk of problems with the G is the price to pay for how impressive it is!
