Leasing a New G63 - Lease Price Opinion
It's been so~ long since I came to MBworld when I first got my CLK430 conv more than 10 years ago. Time flies!
Anyway, I'm now purchasing a G63 and would like to know if my lease price is reasonable. I have previously leased BMW 750LI - 36mth / 12k miles a year / $5,000 down / $1,309 a month w/ msrp of $107,000.
Now I am about to lease 40k more expensive car (G63), and the lease payment I got for 36 months is almost $1,700/month (including tax) w/ $40k down.
Here is G63 spec/options that I am planning to get it this week.
- MSRP $136,625
- Designo Platinum Black Metallic Paint ($2,300)
- PA6 Pack - Designo Leather Package ($5,000)
Total: about $144,000
Tax Rate in my area: 9%
Residual After 36 months: $70,470
Money Factor: 1.75
Does $1,700 w/ $40k down make sense to lease this G63? I'm just curious if this is about the right amount I would pay w/ this much of downpayment.
I'm required to put that much down, because I'm leasing w/ my wife's credit who has only leased small cars previously. She has an excellent credit score & excellent automobile credit history; but G63 takes it differently since it's beyond her auto limit. (that's what the dealer guy told me).
I'm going to purchase this truck after 36 months of lease for sure, because the residual value is so low and I know I can sell for more than $90k. That's what the dealer guy suggested as well.
Please put me some recommendation/opinions about my new lease.
I'm so excited to be back to MBworld! Thx everyone for inputs

In my opinion, you need to research this a little more carefully. First and foremost, you should never put any money down on a lease, let alone 30% of the car's value. After 36 months you will have paid $101k to drive a $140k car for 3 years and you still owe $70k on it. If you financed it for 5 years, your payment (w/ $40k down and 3% loan) would be roughly $1800/mo and after 36 months you would owe $40k on it. In other words, this lease is terrible for you - back to the drawing board.

That's crazy $40k down and $1700 a month to lease
There's people paying your amount of $1700 with maybe 5k-12k down. I've even read about $2500 a month.
My thoughts on given money on a lease,it's loss equity that you will never get back. Especially your buying the vehicle afterwards.
