2013 G 63 AMG
As has been discussed before, Mercedes is typically very conservative with their 0-60 times. If you do a power to weight ration comparison of the G500, you'll see the 10.2 time makes no sense. Actual tests put the G500 below 8 seconds around 7.5. The G55 has basically the same power to weight ratio as the Porsche Cayenne S, and can do a 0-60 of around 6.9 or so.
As an anecdote, a Porsche (Cayenne S) owning friend annoyed me for a few days to "race". We eventually did just that on a deserted road late at night and on both attempts we were neck & neck until about 140 km/h when aerodynamics really came into play. My G55 was a little faster up to 100 km/h but lost the advantage between 100 and 140. We never went faster than 170. My G55 is stock, the Porsche had a Tubi exhaust system and 20" wheels with performance tires.
Kids, please don't try this at home. These were untrained amateurs on public roads without appropriate safety gear.
