Interior door illumination lights issues.

Interior door illumination lights issues.
So yes I got rid of one bad 2013 G63 and got another 2014 G63 that is going thru some issues. Not as bad as the 13 but enough to get me thinking about the quality of those cars.
Anyway, here is the current problem. The illumination that lights up across the doors and where the chrome handle to open the door from the inside one time it works one time it does not. I know it only goes on at night(guess some sensor) but mine do not turn on all the time. Any one here with the same problem?
Also during the day if I turn the headlights on manually do the illumination supposed to go on or just when it's dark outside?
